Ilovephotos didn't detect any faces in my photos (more than 3000 photos).

Anybody has an idea about what I should do?

Arnaud,

did you get the blue bar saying that faces were being detected?

If so, is the show faces button enabled?

If it went completely through the detection process and didn't find anything, may I ask what file type your images are?

Katharine,

Yes, I got the blue bar saying that faces were being detected. And the show faces button is enabled.

My photos are mainly JPEGs. They come from many different cameras.

And I'm surprised there is no way to launch again the face detection process!

Thank you for your help! Except this issue, this app seems really great.

Arnaud,

Is the switch at the top of the application glowing red? If it is, you can switch to the Tagger view where any detected faces will appear. The number of faces detected, if any, should also appear at the bottom of the app between the zoom slider and the trash view button.

If you are syncing with iPhoto, face detection will be started the next time you make changes to iphoto, then reopen iLovePhotos. If you are importing from a folder, face detection will start again with the next imported folder. Alternatively, you can force face detection on a particular photo if you rotate it (and rotate it back to the original position) -- give it a couple of seconds after the rotate for it to start (it just wants to know that you are done rotating).

I've never seen the issue you are having, but you could try closing and reopening the application to see if that fixes it, if you do not see anything in the Tagger.

Also, sorry for not posting as myself earlier -- was testing something on the site when I saw your post and forgot to switch over. I apologize if this caused any confusion.

Thank you Katharine,

I'll try to rotate some pictures.
For now the app tells me there is 0 unidentified faces.

After rotating it tries to detect faces but doesn't find any.

Céd,

I'm sorry FD is not working for you. Are you importing folders or using iPhoto integration? If you are using iPhoto, can you tell us what version it is? Are you using Tiger or Leopard?

Thanks in advance for any additional information you can provide.

Lu,

face detection is slightly different on the website, but still, face detection should be working in the application. If you can tell us whether you are using Leopard or Tiger, and whether you are using iPhoto, that will help us try to figure out what the problem is. Thanks in advance for any additional information you can provide.
