Hey dude. I've got 14K+ photos and tagged 12k+ faces. No probs. Running Leopard on a black MacBook. 2GB RAM.
Hi Jason,
Apologies for the delayed reply...and for your troubles with your monster photo library.
We've tested huge libraries like yours with no problems. What type of photos are they? (Raw?, jpg?)....also, maybe the disk thrashing is from importing some large photos...like +6mb per photo?
We're about to release a new version that has some bug fixes, and may address some of the detection issues you're having.
For the time being, maybe you'd like to start over?
TO START OVER FRESH:
1) Delete the "iLovePhotos Library" file located in your pictures directory.
2) Delete the "com.bluelava.ilovephotos.plist" file located in your Library/Prefrences/ folder.
Then, when you start iLovePhotos, choose the manual import button, and scroll down the left column until you see the "photos" option under the media item...this will allow you to import photos/events from your iPhoto library.
Hope this helps. Thanks!
I tried to import my iPhoto library of nearly 28,000 photos. It imported them all (with a lot of disk thrashing after around 14,000) but it hangs repeatedly when trying to detect faces.
Anyone else have a similar experience? There is no option to import part of the iPhoto library, it's all or nothing...
